Town of Bethany Public Hearing

A public hearing regarding amendments to the Town of Bethany Comprehensive Plan will be held on the 23rd of April 2007 at 7;30pm in the Town offices.

The amendments better address the development and concerns which have arisen or increased since the plan was first created, such as, the Genesee County Smart Growth Plan, Rout 63 corridor study, new CAFO regulations and alternative energy sources.

Effie have you heard

Effie have you heard anything about a town meeting on the Turbines in Bethany?

Our neighbor heard that there was going to be one in the next few weeks and if no one showed up they were going to pass the Turbines through with a setback of only 800ft from homes?

And has anyone approached the town to build them? I was on the UPC site and don't see bethany as a project they are working on.

I think the meeting will be

I think the meeting will be May 16th. You can call Debbie at the town hall to be sure.

If the turbines do come in, they will not be 800' from homes. Setbacks will be measured from property lines and I don't know what that amount will be yet, but I don't think 800' is right.

UPC has approached the town to build them and will be at the meeting on May 16th. Bethany is not listed as a project for them because it's too early yet. They're still waiting on our wind energy zoning laws.

OK thanks..... There will hopefully be a Town meeting for everyone before they go ahead with this...or is that what the workshops are? I get so worked up over rumors and I really just want to know the facts
