Clinton wind park moving along

Social & Environmental

Here is a recent article about the clinton wind park. Excitement is building! http://www.pressrepublican.com/archivesearch/local_story_240213036.html

Excitement, dismay,

Excitement, dismay, community death continues. People have left their homes. Pro wind people that I have spoken to said if I only knew...what I see know is a disgrace....I will not enter Clinton COunty again in my lifetime. The economy will suffer, many of us will no longer to out shopping or buy services in Clinton County. Neighbora and families no longer speak. The community has died...Thank you to our governments for allowing this to happen. Thank to to the state comptroller's office and Association of Towns for not enforcing the laws which is their jurisdiction. So what if officials break the laws. Democracy has died....

The article was very upbeat

The article was very upbeat and positive. All of your tone that you describe is sharply out of touch with the reality of th community that was described in that link. It makes me wonder just how in touch you are with your own community. You say the economny is suffering - yet its booming. No community has died or is dying nor has there been illegal activity. Your own verson of democaracy working seems to be defined as only viable if serving a small minority of nimby minded citizens. Democracy has indeed worked in that all of these towns had elections last year. In Clinton there were anti-wind candidates and they lost badly. Wasn't this an issue in your town? Voting and representing the majority is what democracy is all about - not serving special interest groups. If you really want to represent the voice of the community have you considered running for office instead of pretending to represent your community or mine?

On a last note - people leaving their homes? NCPR and researched this and I think this link is still active: http://www.northcountrypublicradio.org/news/archive.php?id=7003

Are you going to stay out of

Are you going to stay out of Franklin too Anne? Seems like progress on the wind from with that county too. I have no idea why you think things are bad or falling apart. The article was upbeat. No laws were broken. Seems a bit of sour grapes Anne. Democracy is alive and kicking because it represents the will of the majority and not special interest groups.

I believe that Chateguay

I believe that Chateguay approved a wind permit also. Out you now going to stay out of Franklin County?

Ha - will be promise to stay

Ha - will be promise to stay out of Franklin county too? Seems like most towns are being ripped apart like you'd like to think and that communities have aligned to permit this environmentally friendly activity.

You really don't have a

You really don't have a pulse on what people think. Its been a real positive event in Churubusco. Your boycott note is kind of funny in that I wonder if you'll also apply it to Franklin County. Thoughts?
